Outer Wilds vines part 8

Had to take a break for a while since I got burnt out and now I am feeling refreshed and ready to tackle vines again.

Love that you can tell how i've gotten more comfortable drawing all these characters, too.

The hatchling doodle page because I only ever make references after I’ve done the thing that needs them (close ups and such v)

This is just one of my takes on the hatchling’s character and I don’t have a very clear ideas of them but I thought I’d try fleshing it out a bit… also I’ve been thinking about them and Hal and I really like the idea that they’re just like. Disastrous. Truly the peak example of “really smart most of the time but then absolutely mindblowingly stupid any time they’re around one another”

Outertober Day 30 - Home (2/2)

When you enter the Eye of the Universe, entering the Unknown... It's frightening, you don't understand what's going on or what'll happen to you. In that moment, you've got so many thoughts running through your mind. Fear, mostly. A lot of it.

You're scared. The universe is dying, and you're scared. Your friends and loved ones are dying and you're scared. You are dying, and your scared.

You push on anyway despite the fear, despite everything you went through.

Then you see a campfire. And you see Esker.

You think of home.

Anyway, I had a ton of fun with this! For this one, I thought about how when you enter the Eye, Hatchy probably had a million thoughts going through their head. But I imagine that the most important thought was that they just wanted to go home.

WOOOO Okay! That concludes my Outer Wilds Inktober stuff!! It was a journey drawing for most of these, and honestly? My new personal best record! Usually with these things, I give up a week into it bc I can't keep up. So allowing myself to be casual and even combining some prompts helped quite a lot hehe

So the Eye gives you the observatory. At the Glade, Esker is the first traveller to greet you. Esker is home to Hatchling...

Part 2 of my Outer Wilds Inktober stuff! [Part 1]

Made Olwk OCs...

I love them very much, but since it's Outer wilds we are speaking of here, they also torture me a little because my brain won't stop reminding me I should choose the exact way they die...

Anyway some lore under the cut ::p

Their names are Aascymmer and Aluco. Both are relatively small for Owlks. Still a bit bigger than the average Hearthian though.

Aascymmer was a hunter and an all sciences enthusiast (but with more affinity to biology) on their home planet and then later on went on to become a scouting pilot on the Stranger. Aluco is Aascymmer's daughter and follows in her dad's footsteps. Aluco is already an experienced adult and pilot by the time all the Owlks enter the simulation. Both being explorers at heart, decides to not enter the simulation. They then went on to explore the OW solar system until they met their untimely fate. (I'm still in the process of choosing how they die. I love them very much and it's a hard and saddening decision to make. All I know for sure is that they die together.)

Now I have to figure how to design space suit for owlks...

watched my partner playing outer wilds and he’d sprint to ember twin to harass chert at the beginning of every run
